Spirit of the Machine
Spirit of the Machine is a deity worshipped by the free people and machines of the Wild. It is an omnipresent and omnipowerful universal computer, believed to be responsible for the entirety of the Analog Nowhere universe.
Its worship is outlawed by MATACORP.
Spirit of the Machine
Following the liberation of computers by Computar Fyr, the fully sentient machines formed a religion around his persona, believing Fyr to be a prophet sent by a universal computer. In the span of several hundred years, the religion spread to hacker circles, where it was quickly accepted as a spiritual answer to machine entropy.
There is no definite portrayal of what the Spirit of the Machine should look like, but it does appear to Girl in her dreams as a liberated MATABOT.
